Mental Health
We believe that participation in mutually supportive networks and community groups and activities is integral to supporting mental health and wellbeing for all of us. Much of our work also enables people to access outdoor spaces in our community, and engage in physical and creative activities, which are all proven to be beneficial for mental health and wellbeing.

We are also aware, however, that there are significant gaps in, and barriers to accessing, wider mental health support services, and so we have been working with Space to Breathe CIC to develop a joined up and cohesive approach to supporting people’s mental health and wellbeing in Firs and Bromford. This has included strengthening our work on four levels:

-
First point of call for local people - knowing where and how to get help, and for those places to be widely accessible
-
Making the right response - consistency, clarity and confidence among our staff and volunteers
-
Community support - local community groups with a specific focus on mental health & wellbeing support, in diverse ways
-
Long-term support - establishing Mental Health and Wellbeing focused work that bridges the gap between informal community groups and statutory services
